Industrial IoT platform
Observability and platform components for a hybrid-cloud manufacturing platform.
Details anonymised · figures describe my own work
Overview
A hybrid-cloud Kubernetes platform connecting a manufacturer's production plants and shared by several tenants for telemetry-driven operations. I worked on observability, platform components and rollout readiness.
The problem
Many tenants and heterogeneous telemetry sources needed consistent monitoring, a standard way to add platform components, and database changes that could be rolled out safely.
The approach
Real-time telemetry ingestion over MQTT and Kafka, a shared Prometheus and Grafana stack with standardized dashboards, and reusable cluster add-ons delivered through Helm and GitOps with FluxCD. Database migrations ran through Flyway and containerized tooling so they could be repeated.
Highlights
- Built the Prometheus and Grafana observability stack and the dashboards tenants share
- Worked on real-time telemetry ingestion with HiveMQ and Kafka
- Added reusable cluster components that cut per-tenant setup effort
- Made database migrations repeatable with Flyway
